Black Hole 04:06
What do you want to do before the world ends? What do you want to do before the world ends? At the edge of the earth, trapped in these frozen skies Faith it will mean something, it’s where the answer lies What do you want to do before the world ends? What do you want to do before the world ends? Where the light disappears, out of mind, out of sight Mass of 4 million suns, did Albert get it right? What do you want to do before the world ends? What do you want to do before the world ends? Eat, drink, smoke, screw, paint yourself blue Travel in time, disprove Einstein What do you want to do? What do you want to do before the world ends? What do you want to do before the world ends? The shadow of a black hole, curving time and space Is this what you dreamed of, beginnings of the race What do you want to do before the world ends? What do you want to do before the world ends? Is this what you dreamed of? Is this where we came from?

The Watcher 03:24
Do do do do do, do do Do do do do do, do do Oxford Street at midnight The blank blind drunk faces Girls in tiny dresses Girls wearing all they own Painted faces blue white Walked texting fell over Took selfies all alone The phones were on, no one's home Do do do do do, do do I stood I watched Do do do do do, do do You looked all around you In the edge of vision In a smoke grey mist A cardboard cut-out doorway Blue white face a spot light My heart stopped for a moment Though I couldn't say why It was something in your eye Do do do do do, do do I stood I watched Do do do do do, do do This feeling is as old as time Get out, get out while you can No second thoughts, you know, you're sure Get out, get away from this man Do do do do do, do do But I stood I watched Do do do do do, do do He felt my eyes on him Spun to see the watcher Looked directly at me As if I'd called his name Hidden in the half light Frozen for a second Cold anger crossed his face Not this time Not this place Do do do do do, do do I stood I watched Do do do do do, do do I stood I watched Do do do do do, do do I watched

Looking into the start of it 13 billion light years back in time Even being a part of it Well it’s enough to blow your mind One small voice in a universe of sound Is there someone in the future watching me? And can they see the beauty that I see? Are they looking up to point the blame? Make sure they don’t do the same Then fuck it up, time and again Is this a mistake An accident of fate? Is this a mistake An accident of fate? Is there someone in the future watching you? Can they hear you, can they see the things you do? Are you the star of late-night clothes? Or advertising Retro shows? Deleted for home videos Is this a mistake An accident of fate? Is this a mistake An accident of fate? Is there someone in the future judging you? Are they laughing, are they shocked at what you do? The dark web or the lunch time news The snap chat filters we don’t choose And baffled by top Tick-tock views Is this a mistake An accident of fate? Is this a mistake An accident of fate? A pale red sun tints the trees and the flowers still in bloom And a thousand paper leaves scribble circles in the gloom Through the traffic’s drone, grey atmosphere A tiny bird sings sweet and clear A minute, hour, a day, year Is this a mistake An accident of fate? Is this a mistake An accident of fate?

Slacklining 03:24
Slacklining on Deansgate Locks In platform boots and sequinned frocks Biological clocks are ticking for you Living on borrowed dreams Life is never what it seems Playing white wedding themes, Dress-up in mum’s shoes Don’t look down (click, click, click) Don’t look down Don’t look down Someone old, someone new, someone borrowed, someone blue You always thought that was you Now what are you going to do? You work the room, hunt in a pack Try every girl, and don’t look back Skin as thick as the Brylcreem on your hair Strike a pose, flaunt and beam You are no one’s teenage dream But some girl with low self-esteem Will say, I might as well Don’t look down (click, click, click) Don’t look down Don’t look down Someone old, someone new, someone borrowed, someone blue You always thought that was you Now what are you going to do? Maybe there will come a day You will turn to him and say I never loved you any way, Walk out of the door Somehow out of all this mess You will make a different dress One that you don’t have to press, One you can’t see through Don’t look down Don’t look down Don’t look down Someone old, someone new, someone borrowed, someone blue You always thought that was you Now what are you going to do?

She’s on Prosecco He’s on the lemo Where will it ever end? One bag for 50 Three for 120 How much you got to spend? She used to be beautiful Maybe 15 years ago Always got what she wanted Now she don’t want what she’s got She wants a boob job He wants a new job CV and nudes to send She’s gone to yoga Web cam with Olga How much you gonna bend? She knows how to look like she has a good time She knows how to look like she has a good time She knows how to look like she has a good time She hides her Mandy It comes in handy He doesn’t have to know But when he gets in He puts a shift in Camera man in the show She knows how to look like she has a good time She knows how to look like she has a good time She knows how to look like she has a good time She goes to wine bars Poses like porn stars Knows how to make new friends He’s on Prosecco She’s on the lemo Is this the way it ends? She knows how to look like she has a good time She knows how to look like she has a good time She knows how to look like she has a good time

I had a short lie down In the back of a long black car Took off my blue shoes And drank some red I did what I could With a rigid flat pack four But save all your clean sheets For when you’re in bed When I was looking for someone Every port was a storm The ones I met on the way Wouldn't leave me alone The ones you meet on the up You've got to see on the down The down He didn't like me I didn't like me too We both needed someone But we didn't know who Where the sky should be We had three grey holes And every other week We'd pretend to look for roles When I was looking for someone Every port was a storm The ones I met on the way Wouldn't leave me alone The ones you meet on the up You've got to see on the down The down Take off your blue shoes And drink some red Under the gaslight The serious gaslight

The voices of doubt Were shouting your name out But I couldn't see past that kiss And somewhere inside I knew that you lied Though I thought I was bigger than this It drove me Crazy Time after time You said you were mine But your eyes were not looking at me No signal. No sound But when I turned round I knew I was standing where she should be You brushed a strand of hair from her mouth In that movement the trace of doubt Turn the light off, pretend there's no one in You really shouldn't open the door to him He'll steal your heart away and take your money too He'll leave you high and dry And put the blame Put the blame on you The voices of doubt Were shouting your name out But I couldn't see past that kiss And somewhere inside I knew that you lied Though I thought I was bigger than this It drove me crazy Crazy

about

East Berlin, November 1989 and the writing was on the wall. A project five years in the making was quickly disbanded and the participants sent to the four corners of the west.
Never to be heard from again.

Until now.

The Shops Manchester, UK

The Shops are an a-pop-alyptic four piece raised on short wave radio broadcasts from behind the Iron Curtain, inspired by misheard disco and degenerate pop from underground Baltic bunkers.
